In the Signee Scholarship Programme, you will learn the foundational skills from experienced sign makers.

*Work experience in a sign business 

*First Aid & Site Safe certifications

*Employment support upon completion of programme

*Learn the 6 pillars of sign making

* Industry endorsed certificate 

*Connection to NZSDA mentor

Eligibility Criteria 

  • * New Zealand based
  • * A citizen or permanent resident of NZ 
  • * Over 16 years of age
  • *Have whakapapa or cultural links with Māori and/or Pasifika communities
  • *Be planning on a career in sign making  

Scholarship Package Includes:

  • *Full scholarship for Signee Prevocational Training Programme
  • *Pastoral care from Training and Communications Officer during programme
  • *Connection to New Zealand Sign & Display Association mentor
  • *Employment support upon successful completion of programme

Additional Information 

The scholarship panel will consider applications according to: 

  • *Whakapapa/genealogy with appropriate endorsement 
  • *Reference from local Māori and/or Pasifika communities  

The scholarship is available for individuals (not to employers to reimburse professional development) 

The scholarship is available for October 2023 – March 2024
